Chief Visionary Sarah O'Connell, MDra 

Sarah OConnell Eat More Art LLC -  The Asylum.jpeg

Sarah O’Connell has led The Asylum Theatre as Artistic Director since 2003, after relocating to Las Vegas from San Francisco to establish AxisLights Inc., an entertainment lighting company. An award-winning international artist, she holds a MDra in Directing from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

In addition to producing, she is an adjunct professor and creative economy scholar for UNLV’s College of Fine Arts, and the former Executive Director of Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Honored with a 2024 Vegas Icon Visionary Award (VIVA) and 2025 NV Women's Film Festival Spirit of Community Award, she founded Eat More Art LLC in 2015, a company dedicated to the development of Southern Nevada’s creative industries..

An advocate for lifelong learning and public access to humanity’s cultural legacy, she created the Community Learning Project in partnership with the NV Department of Education, and is honored to serve on the Editorial Board of the Traditions-Innovations in Art, Design and Media journal for a2ru, and as a founding co-Vice President of Nevada’s Arts Creative and Entertainment (ACE) Industry Chamber.
